Design Assistant

OVERVIEW

  • The ideal candidate will be extremely detail oriented, enthusiastic, hardworking and zealous about the interior design process. They will work closely with the design team, principal and clients to provide project support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the design team with overseeing large scale design projects through completion

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and communications with clients and vendors

  • Request quotes, pricing and samples from vendors.

  • Create proposals, purchase orders and finalize orders. Make sure items are shipped/received in time and work to replace any items that arrive damaged

  • Assist in preparing client presentations for meetings

  • Facilitate workroom communications and visits (upholsterer, showrooms, etc.)

  • Coordinate with project partners including Architects, General Contractors, Craftsmen, etc. on client site visits

  • Collaborate on final client installations; including furniture placement and accessory layout

  • Create finish schedules and share with architects and builders

  • Attend client meetings, take detailed notes, and provide general support of team

WHAT WE’D LIKE TO SEE

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design or other relevant degree

  • Minimum of two-year’s experience at an interior design firm or other related field

  • Eager to collaborate in a team environment

  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a flexible and often-changing work environment

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Excellent skills in all aspects of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Suite

  • Strong attention to detail and self-starter

  • CAD and Photoshop skills

  • Experience with Studio Designer

  • Other interior design programs a plus
